Pacific Storms: 1945–2026 maps every tropical storm, hurricane
and typhoon in the Eastern, Central and Western Pacific (Northern Hemisphere) with a
National Hurricane Center or Joint Typhoon Warning Center wind record, 1945 through
the current season, as published in NOAA's IBTrACS archive. Winds are one-minute
sustained, so Saffir-Simpson categories match across basins and match the sister
Atlantic hurricane platform.
US states and territories (Hawaii, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands,
Alaska, California) are listed first in every land-area filter.
What You Can Do
- Active Now — current NHC East/Central Pacific advisories and JTWC West Pacific warnings, refreshed about every 3 minutes. The map and globe show each storm's current 39/58/74 mph wind field, the official forecast track, and the NHC cone or JTWC danger swath. Click a storm to zoom to it. Tracks newer than IBTrACS are labeled Preliminary.

Read The Data Carefully
- The 2025 and 2026 seasons are provisional. A storm marked Preliminary is the latest NHC or JTWC operational track, shown because IBTrACS has not published that fix yet.
- Winds from the 1940s through the 1960s are widely considered overestimated.
- "Passed over" lists every country or territory the storm center crossed or came within 40 km of, including inland decay. No death or damage figures are included.
- Storms with no NHC or JTWC wind record (mostly before 1945) are not shown.
- Best track ends when a storm goes post-tropical. Ex-Typhoon Halong's record stops on October 11, 2025, a day before it struck western Alaska, so Alaska does not appear on it.
- "Passed over" needs the storm center within 40 km. A storm that raked an island from 100 km offshore, like Sinlaku near Guam in April 2026, is not listed for it.
